Real Estate Investing — The Useful Bruce
I was formerly licensed to act as a placement through a FINRA-approved broker-dealer. This was through a company I formed called The Useful Bruce LLC, www.theusefulbruce.com. Through this activity, I was permitted to raise capital for real estate parties. After a while it got too confusing between the law firm and capital raising, so I shut this down and, accordingly, my license to raise dollars and be paid for it has now expired.
So now I help clients of my law firm raise funds without charging for it. Accordingly, it is a (free) value-add that my law firm provides and clients love that I do this for them.
Also, through the years, I have invested with various clients in their real estate endeavors; however, so far I have been smart enough not to dabble directly in real estate itself, since, being honest with myself, I would have no clue how to do it. See my book, How to Invest in Real Estate if You Know Nothing About Real Estate.
