Moon Poem – To My Daughter
The strawberry moon across the water
Made me pleased to have a daughter
By my side we stared with wide eyes
At the ethereal presence that fills the skies
What would this sight have meant without
This one I loved beyond all doubt
Inspiring beauty is of little worth
If you’re one and alone upon this Earth
Tis the thrill of meaningful sharing
Of that you see with one you’re caring
Otherwise oh strawberry moon
My thrill in moment would turn to gloom
Snug she stands in my shoulder’s love
My daughter and me and the moon above
